Frankenstein's Monster

This Frankenstein was wearing a Santa hat a month ago, but now only has a straitjacket to keep him warm. He belongs to a hobby store in cute little downtown San Anselmo, where the owner made me take a photo with Frankenstein as well. You're spared from having to see that pic on my blog.

Language of the Birds

This is definitely one of my favorite public art pieces in the City. The SF Art Comission and Public Works worked together for this permanent art installation at the intersection of Broadway and Columbus. What's cool is that the books are illuminated at night solar power, and from a different angle, mimic the wings of birds in flight. They widened the sidewalk at the intersection (and removed a horrible turn lane off Columbus, but I digress). Look down at your feet and the paving is imprinted with words taken from certain books tied to the literary history of the area, and they kept the original fonts!!!! So cool!!!!

Angry Girl Goes to Lunch

Red Light Special

I've been wanting to take a pic like this for while, and I tried to leave the shutter open long enough to capture all three signals on the traffic light. It only took my 2 months to realize that the sign outside reads "Laguna Honda Blvd"- so much for my environmental awareness.

The red light maked me think of this TLC song- might as well make it stuck in your head for the rest of the day. . . .

Happy New Year everyone! Check out the cute envelopes I've gotten so far! So supposedly, my lucky element is metal this year and I should have a very lucky year, particuarly August and September. Keep you fingers crossed everyone!

Pre Lunar New Year

It's almost New Years and my place was invaded by too much food and random small people. A word to the wise: It's not smart to let kids play with a cereal vending machine if you don't feel like sweeping Cheerios off the floor afterwards.

Bay Bombers

It used to be (circa 1985) that I would have to stay up on a Saturday night way past SNL was over in order to watch roller derby. But thank goodness the Bay Bombers are back at Kezar! Where else can you see fans running up to take photos of someone just hit with a chair, face planted, or clothes lined over the rail? Awesome!!!

Rainbow Fish

I've been meaning to post Gilbert images, but it's hard to get a photo of an angry fish moving around. I think I've got a decent one that's probably close to life size. Doesn't he remind you of the Rainbow fish? At least this is proof that my fish is still alive. At least for now. . .

It's a conspiracy

Has someone seen my kiwi or strawberry cheesecake jelly belly? These are just a couple of the 7 flavors missing from my "40 Flavor" Jelly Belly bag. Companies shouldn't label 40 flavors if there really aren't 40 flavors. My poor taste buds don't know what they're missing.

I Heart Japan

Although National Sushi Day isn't until November 1st, it didn't stop us from getting on the sushi boat today. Of course I have to include my faithful lunch sidekick (hopefully she'll stop bugging me about being on my blog).

It's the Law

You know what else transmits disease? The random dude who walks up to a tree 3 feet from my car while I'm sitting in it and decides to take a whiz. I will spare you the graphic details of what I saw. How ironic that I take this picture 30 minutes before I realize that we may need to start posting signs prohibiting people waste. It's been a gross day.

Tree Huggers

It was hard to choose just one image for Sunday, so I cheated and included a few. I walked from my house and through the park. I like the crazies hanging out in the tree and the distant german shepard in the trail shot barrelling towards me.

Belly Flops

You're never too old to enjoy a big ass candy factory, especially one that includes a free tour of how jelly beans are made, and free samples. They also have artwork made from jelly bellies, including quite a few art pieces of Ronald Regan. It turns out he was a big fan of jelly bellies and was addicted to them as an alternative to smoking. I wish there was a service that allows you to rent dogs by the hour. Since there isn't, I've resorted to borrowing this one just for a little while today. 70 degree weather was the perfect excuse to walk a dog.

Eco Graffiti

Since I drive through the Broadway tunnel, I finally got out of my car to take this pic of a mural by Paul Curtis. He recently teamed with Green Works, a cleaning products company, to scrub a section of San Francisco’s Broadway Tunnel. He scoured a 140-foot mural of indigenous flora into decades’ worth of exhaust fumes; now pale gray flowers and trees sway in silhouette against the grime.

Meet a Giraffe

So there are these cute light posts around work that promote the SF Zoo. I like how the pattern carries through the length of the light. Good thing they didn't make ads that say "Meet a tiger." Or maybe they could,but it would have to say "Run from a tiger." By the way, the zoo might be free for people born in the year of the Ox when they have their Lunar New Year celebation on the 25th. There should be acrobats!

Little Miss Sunshine

This is proof that I actually woke up at 5:50 this morning for a fun conference call. That's right- it's my first sunrise picture for a change. I hope I didn't leave footprints on the desk I had to climb on to take this picture.

I woke up this morning to have my favorite four legged friend 2 inches from my face. I secretly wanted to upload a pic of the lasagna I made, but I couldn't resist the kitty.

Where's the giant cat?

Friday was the perfect day to start my photo blog. A neighbor company at work had this awesome giant ball of yarn with the little feet sticking out. I'm fighting the temptation to photoshop a giant Steffi cat in the background chasing it.
