Did you know that the 49 mile scenic drive was created in 1938 in the City to promote tourism right before the International Expo in 1939? It's route apparently changes, but I wonder if this sign located outside the Ferry building was here 20 years ago before the Loma Prieta earthquake and the demolition of the freeway that once hovered over the Embarcadero.

Did you know that the 49 mile scenic drive was created in 1938 in the City to promote tourism right before the International Expo in 1939?
